Can Your Golf Tee Do This?

Can Your Golf Tee Do This?

World Long Drive Champion Martin Borgmeier swings a club 155+ MPH (faster than most people’s ball speed.)

It takes a special tee to stand up to that kind of abuse.

The patented flexible crown of the Tornado Tee is designed to reduce friction, increase distance, and tighten dispersion.

Pallof Press for Stability

Pallof Press for Core Stability

Improve stability by resisting the rotation…

The Pallof Press is one of the best exercises to build strength and stability in your core, especially for golf.

The Pallof Press builds the muscles responsible for rotation in your core without unnecessary pressure and force on your body or joints.

This exercise is deceptively difficult.

It doesn’t look like you’re doing much on the surface… but inside, you’ll feel nearly every muscle responsible for rotation and stabilization firing.

You should find the tension that allows you to do 10 – 20 Pallof Presses max.

For an additional challenge, try an isometric hold with your arms extended. The right tension means you can hold it for at least 30 seconds but not more than 60 seconds.

Make Pure Contact

Make Pure Contact

Practicing on mats can make your contact worse…

Mats have a tendency to encourage fat shots…

When you hit behind the ball on most mats, your club bounces off the mat and skids into the back of the ball.

The result is a little less distance, but it doesn’t always “feel” like a bad shot… so unless you have a golf simulator, you can’t really tell that you hit the ball fat.

The cure is to give yourself an obstacle behind the ball so you know when you start to get a little heavy with your swing.

I’ve used alignment sticks, towels, and even high impact acrylic plates… On grass, a line of sand or paint works well.

Fat shots usually happen when your rotation stalls.

Use the obstacle behind the ball as a reminder to keep rotating all the way through your swing.

The Tee Claw makes a great visual reminder to keep rotating.

Groove Your Swing At Home

Groove Your Swing At Home

Use this drill to groove your swing anywhere…

If you struggle to strike the ball pure… you may just need more practice – more time swinging a club.

Going to the range is a commitment… but it can be hard to know what to practice at home.

Pound for pound, one of the best drills is to create a channel and simply swing through the channel, lightly brushing your mat in the same place every time.

You can do this drill anywhere you have enough space to swing a club.

Pro Tip: Use a golf mat or even a door mat to protect your carpet from “fat” swings.

Fix Your Aim

Fix Your Aim

Most People Aim Too Far to the Right…

Most people aim too far to the right… It’s called parallax.

Because golf is played side-on, we end up with a parallax issue. Your ball wants to go straight to the target… but when you address the ball, your eye is looking at the target… from a different angle.

In the illustration above, your eye actually sees your target much farther to the right in relation to the background than the ball does. This means you end up aiming your feet to the right as well.

The result is either…

  • A push and slice as you hit out to the target your eye sees…
  • A pull / hook as your mind tries to correct at the last minute…
  • Or… worst of all, you get good at lining up to the right, crossing your body, and develop an out-to-in swing path.

Use the Tee Claw with a lanyard to help keep your alignment straight… so you can focus on your swing.

High Speed Tee

Ultra High Speed Ball Strike

What really happens to a golf tee?…

When a golf ball is compressed, it expands along the perimiter perpendicular to the impact point.

This expansion presses down on the crown of the tee, driving the tee into the ground.

The compression wave ripples forward to the front of the ball then returns creating a spring effect off the face of the golf club.

The club actually runs into the tee before the ball jumps off the face of the club.

Under ideal conditions, the tee can absorb the shock of the downward pressure from the ball compressing and kicks out of the way when the club comes through.

However, when the ground is firm… a traditional tee cannot move to absorb the downward pressure of the ball or get out of the way of the club.

When a traditional tee cannot move, the tee pushes up on the ball adding spin and reducing the amount of energy transferred… the opposite of what you want when driving the ball.

The Tornado Tee has a patented flexible crown designed to act as a shock absorber when the ball is compressed.

The flexible crown is also designed to let the club pass through the tee without the added resistance of a rigid tee.

Because the Tornado Tee flexes there is less spin and more energy transferred into the golf ball.

Using the Tornado Tee results in longer, straighter drives with less dispersion.

The Magic of the Tornado Tee

The Magic of the Tornado Tee

Reduced resistance in all conditions…

In soft ground, a tee simply tips forward when struck. However, in firm ground the tee pushes back on the club.

How much the tee pushes back on the club depends on how dry and firm the tee box is.

It takes nearly 10 pounds of force to break a traditional wood tee. That’s 10 pounds of force you could be losing to the tee instead of transferring it to the ball.

It takes just a few ounces to glide through the flexible crown of the Tornado Tee… significantly less force than any other wood or solid plastic tee.

The result is up to a 3% increase in ball flight metrics.

For reference, Club Manufacturers spend millions in R&D to design new clubheads that provide even a fraction of a percent increase in ball flight metrics.

Structured Arms

Structured Arms

Make consistent contact and improve your “feel” with structured arms…

A lot of people address the ball with soft arms and then struggle with consistent contact.

When you have soft arms, you have bent elbows. If you bend them too much during your swing you’ll top the ball. If you straighten them, you’ll chunk it or shank it. If you get it just right, you’ll end up with a chicken wing, losing distance, power, consistency, and control…

Address the ball with structured arms and feel the press of the club away from your body.

The Prolete Golf Swing Trainer is perfect for letting you feel what structured arms should feel like through your entire swing.

Train yourself to have structured arms and you’ll have a consistent radius for more power, distance, and control.

Caring for your Tornado Tee

Caring for your Tornado Tee

The flexible crown on the Tornado Tee means that it can become misshapen in your bag or shipping.

This is easy to fix. Press the flexible crown down around the tee base like an umbrella and pull back up to the normal position. Repeat this process two or three times to restore the original shape of your tee. Your tee will now easily hold a ball.

The flexible crown also means that you can manipulate the top of the tee for a wide or more narrow crown for your ball to rest on.

Teeing Up with Tornado Tee

To press your Tornado Tee into a hard tee box…

  1. Press Down the Flexible Crown
  2. Place the Ball On Top of the Tee with the Crown Compressed
  3. Press the Ball and Tee Firmly into the Ground
  4. Spring the Flexible Crown Back Up into Position
  5. Replace Your Ball On Top of Your Tee

Warranty Information

The Tornado Tee comes with a 30-Day Warranty that guarantees the tee against manufacturer defects.

The design of the tee is such that a good swing will not impact the hard plastic cup or post of the tee. However, if you do make contact with the post or cup and your tee breaks under normal conditions, let us know and we’ll replace your tee. Please send a picture of your broken tee to receive a replacement.

The Tornado Tee also comes with a 1000+ Swing Guarantee on the flexible crown. (This does not cover the hard plastic cup or post.) Your tee will be good for at least 1000 swings or we’ll replace your tee free of charge. This covers if the flexible crown becomes frayed or misshapen and will no longer hold a ball or if the flexible crown separates and comes out of the receiver cup. Please send a picture of your tee and an estimated swing count to receive a replacement. Note: this guarantee only covers normal golf activity.
